How to reach Riverside

Riverside is located at the center of the "Inland Empire", approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles, 50 miles west of Palm Springs, and 100 miles north of San Diego.

By plane, you can reach Riverside by landing at one the following three airports:

  • LAX Los Angeles International Airport: 71 miles.
Shared-ride Shuttle service to Riverside is $69 for the first person, $9 for each additional person (plus tip).
  • SNA John Wayne Airport in Orange County: 47 miles.
Shared-ride Shuttle service to Riverside is about $74 for the first person, $9 for each additional person (plus tip).
  • ONT Ontario International Airport: 20 miles.
Shared-ride Shuttle service to Riverside is about $35 for the first person, $9 for each additional person (plus tip).
(shuttle fares are from http://www.supershuttle.com/ as of December 2005).

If you are already in a major hub in the US, ONT is by far the most convenient airport.

If you are flying from abroad, you might find more flights and cheaper fares by flying into LAX. Keep in mind, however, that rush hour traffic can more than double the driving time between Riverside and LAX. It is best not to be on the major highways between 7am and 9am and between 4pm and 6pm on work days.
